Raincheck is a colourless, water- repellent for masonry based on UV resistant siloxane resins. Its resistance to alkalis is greater that of the standard methyl silicone resins. Raincheck can be used on old and new buildings to protect brick, stone and concrete facades from penetrating damp.Benefits

Preparation
Raincheck should only be applied to dry, porous surfaces. It should not be applied over sealed or painted surfaces.
Remove all paint from surface to be treated prior to application. Raincheck is intended for use above damp-proofing course level only.
Application to structures containing high levels of salt should be avoided.
Only apply Raincheck when rain is not forecast for the next 24 hours. Raincheck should not be applied to wet surfaces, or where it has rained in the last 24 hours.
For the treatment to be successful it is essential to check all joint and roof connections prior to application.
Although hairline cracks up to 0.3 mm can be ‘bridged’ by Raincheck, it may be necessary to fill cracks in brick/ stonework and to repoint using a suitable sand/lime or sand/ cement mortar
Dirty surfaces should be cleaned before the application of Raincheck.
Code of practice for cleaning sand surface repair of buildings. Cleaning of natural stones, brick, terracotta and concrete.” DO NOT USE DETERGENTS.
Wooden and metal window/door frames and glass surfaces should be covered up before treatment, since removal of silicone resin splashes after drying can be very difficult.
Splashes should be removed as soon as possible using soapy water or, if necessary, a solvent. Due to the fast curing rate of Raincheck, splashes will be difficult to remove, even after just a few hours.
Plants subject to potential over-sprays should be protected with plastic sheeting.
Test Area
Raincheck has been formulated to be colourless once cured. However, very slight darkening may occur when it is applied to some substrates. Although this will usually fade over time, a small, representative and inconspicuous test area should always be treated before full treatment begins
Application
Raincheck is supplied ready for use.
Brush or Lambswool Roller
This method is recommended if the areas to be treated are small or if the wall has a large number of windows. Special care should be taken to ensure that sufficient Raincheck is applied (1 litre Raincheck per 3.5 m2 per coat), since the success of the treatment depends on this. At least two coats should be applied wet on wet.
Coarse Spray (Flood Coating)
This method is recommended when treating large areas, Raincheck being applied by means of a knapsack sprayer or piston pump and spray lance. Spray pressure should be kept as low as possible – the solution should be seen to flow in a stream from the spray lance rather than form a spray mist.
Application should start at the highest point working from side to side allowing a “run-down” of
6 – 12”. If treatment is halted, it is advisable to make a light chalk mark to indicate where treatment was halted.
It is important that the coating is uniform and that sufficient Raincheck is applied. It is, therefore, advisable to flood coat twice on most surfaces, Raincheck being applied wet-on-wet. On poorly absorbent surfaces one coat of Raincheck will usually suffice.
