The Safeguard PU Fabric is polyester, non-woven Geotextile (60-65 gr/m2).

Advantages

Uses

The MARISEAL FABRIC is mainly used as a reinforcing fabric for use in combination with the MARISEAL, liquid- applied waterproofing membranes.

Applied in combination with the MARISEAL liquid-applied waterproofing membranes on:

• The entire surface to be waterproofed or applied locally on:
• Wall-floor connections
• around outlet pipes and chimney stacks
• light domes and air conditioner units
• waterspouts (siphon),
• 90 angles
• inside movement joints and over cracks, etc

Consumption

If applied on the entire surface, a 5-10 cm overlapping between the fabric strips must be calculated.

Compatibility

The MARISEAL FABRIC can be used as a reinforcing fabric for use in combination with the MARISEAL 250, MARISEAL 260, MARISEAL 270, MARISEAL®300, MARISEAL 310, MARISEAL AQUA PRIME and other MARISPOLYMERS liquid-applied waterproofing membranes.

Application

Reinforcement of the Waterproofing membrane MARISEAL liquid membrane:
Reinforce the MARISEAL liquid membrane with the MARISEAL FABRIC on the entire surface to be waterproofed or locally at
problem areas, like wall-floor connections, light-domes, chimneys, pipes, waterspouts (siphon), etc. In order to do that, apply on the still wet MARISEAL liquid membrane, a correct cut piece of the MARISEAL FABRIC, press it to soak, and saturate again with enough MARISEAL liquid membrane.

Repair of cracks, before the application of the Waterproofing membrane MARISEAL:
Clean concrete cracks and hairline cracks, of dust, residue or other contamination. Prime locally with the MARISEAL 710 Primer and allow 2-3 hours to dry. Fill all prepared cracks with MARIFLEX® PU 30 sealant. Then apply a layer of MARISEAL liquid membrane, 200mm wide centred over all cracks and while wet, cover with a correct cut strip of the MARISEAL FABRIC. Press it to soak. Then saturate the MARISEAL FABRIC with enough MARISEAL liquid membrane, until it is fully covered. Allow to cure.

Watertight sealing of movement joints before the application of the Waterproofing membrane MARISEAL
Clean expansion joints and control joints of dust, residue or other contamination. Wide and deep joints (cut open) if necessary. Apply some MARIFLEX® PU 30 Joint-Sealant on the bottom of the joint only. Then with a brush, apply a stripe layer of MARISEAL liquid membrane, 200mm wide centered over the joint. Place the MARISEAL FABRIC over the wet coating and with a suitable tool, press it deep inside the joint, until it is soaked, and the joint is fully covered from the inside. Then fully saturate the fabric with enough MARISEAL liquid membrane. Then place a polyethylene cord of the correct dimensions inside the joint and press it deep inside onto the saturated fabric. Fill the remaining free space of the joint with MARIFLEX PU 30 sealant and allow to cure.

Packaging

The MARISEAL FABRIC is supplied in rolls of 1m x 100m length and 0,2m x 100m length. Rolls should be stored in dry and cool rooms for up to 12 months. Protect the material against moisture and direct sunlight. Storage temperature: 5-30C. Products should remain in their original, unopened packaging, bearing the manufacturers name, product designation and batch number.
