Safeguard Rubberised Bitumen is a water-based, modified bitumen emulsion used to create a waterproof membrane. Apply a generous coat of Rubberised Bitumen
by brush or roller (0.25 litre/m2)
Bed the membrane into the wet coat, taking
care to remove all air pockets and crease
marks.
Overlaps must be a minimum of 50mm.Allow
to dry (3 hours, depending on conditions)
Second Coat
Apply a second f 0.25/m2 making sure that
the membrane is completely saturated, and
allow to dry for no less than 24 hours.
Final Coat
All areas exposed to direct sunlight should be
over coated with Bitumen Aluminium Paint, to
protect against ultraviolet attack.

Application Information

Preparation

All surfaces should be sound, clean and free from any contaminants including rust.

Application

Priming

All surfaces, except iron and steel, should be primed using one coat of Bitumen Primer. Allow to dry. Iron and steel should be primed using a suitable corrosion resistant etch primer.

First Coat

Apply a generous coat of SG Pond Pro by brush or roller (0.33 litre/m2) Bed the flexseal membrane into the wet coat, taking care to remove all air pockets and crease marks. Overlaps must be a minimum of 50mm. Allow to dry (3 hours, depending on conditions)

Second Coat

Apply a second off 0.33/m2 making sure that the membrane is completely saturated and allow to dry for no less than 24 hours.

Cleaning

  • Uncured SG Pond Pro can be removed with water
  • Cured material can be removed with Solvent Tool Cleaner

Disposal

Dispose in accordance with local regulations.
