Salt Neutraliser

S.W.S Salt Neutraliser is a low viscosity, solvent-free salt neutralizer targeting chlorides and sulphates. Ideal for treating groundwater salts present in a wall following rising damp treatment.
Description
S.W.S Salt Neutraliser is a low viscosity, solvent-free salt neutralizer targeting chlorides and sulphates, available in 5kg plastic containers. It converts water soluble salts into insoluble or hardly soluble reactive compounds. S.W.S Salt Neutraliser is ideal for treating groundwater salts present in a wall following rising damp treatment. As a result of the neutralization the chlorides and sulphates within the masonry
cannot be transported by the gauging solution used in a subsequent slurry coat or fillet seal. Clear in colour, S.W.S Salt Neutraliser can be applied by brush or spray. Contains magnesium hexafluorosilicate.

Preparation
S.W.S Salt Neutraliser is supplied as a concentrate for dilution with water prior to use. All preparatory work to the substrate should be carried out in accordance with the following recommendations:
  1. Remove existing plaster and/or render back to original substrate, clear away resultant rubble
  2. Where whitewash, paint, dirt, oil etc. is present, totally remove either by grit blasting or needle gunning. Bush hammering is considered as too aggressive and should be avoided, as italso creates a layer of compacted dust
  3. Remove any exposed timber fixing blocks, lintels etc. and either brick up resultant voids or replace with reinforced concrete lintels
  4. Carefully examine surfaces to be coated and remove any nails or other metal fixings
  5. Power wash prepared walls to remove all loose dust and dirt
Apply S.W.S Salt Neutraliser to the prepared substrate in two operations.

Application
  1. Dilute 1 part of S.W.S Salt Neutraliser with 1 part of water and apply. Leave overnight to dry.
  2. A second coat of neat S.W.S Salt Neutraliser should be applied the next morning. Rendering and/or tanking can proceed immediately and should not be delayed longer than 2 days.
One litre of neat S.W.S Salt Neutraliser applied in 2 coats will cover a surface area of approximately 2m2.

Storage
Protect S.W.S Salt Neutraliser from frost and keep container closed. Once opened a storage life of 12 months is expected.
